Houdah Software releases HoudahGeo 6.1 for macOS

Houdah Software has released HoudahGeo 6.1, a major upgrade to their photo geotagging tool for macOS. Popular among travelers and professionals alike, HoudahGeo tags photos with location coordinates and related metadata. Standard EXIF, XMP, and IPTC geotags allow cataloging tools to organize and find photos by location. This incredibly useful app works with JPEG and RAW files as well as photos in Apple Photos, iPhoto, Aperture, and Adobe Lightroom Classic libraries.

Improving performance when working with large projects, version 6.1 expands the support for weather and scuba diving data introduced in HoudahGeo 6.0. HoudahGeo 6.1 also adds support for Retroactive, a tool that modifies the discontinued Apple Aperture application to run on macOS 10.15 Catalina as well as macOS 11 Big Sur. The app now supports Lightroom libraries set up with symbolic links to preview files, as well as reading malformed XMP sidecar files created by the Export Originals function of the Apple Photos application. HoudahGeo 6.1 is $39 (USD) for a single-user license and can be downloaded from their Website.
